Mayu Sculpture Table

Inspired by the Quechua word for “river,” MAYU is a cedar coffee table with a soft spiral form that evokes the flowing movement of water. Its organic grain enhances the sense of transformation, as if the wood itself were alive.

More than a table, MAYU is an invitation to embrace the present and the natural harmony between matter, energy, and nature.

I chose cedar for its deep ties to nature and the sacred. Known since ancient times as a tree of protection and wisdom, its warm scent and grounding presence suit Mayu, a piece that reflects the flow of time and inner harmony.

Finding a tree that had been felled eight years ago, fully dried, and with the right dimensions made this creation even more special.
